Major Depressive Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder are some of the most common and uncomfortable mental health disorders humans experiences at some point during their lives. Through therapeutic treatment associated with emotional support, psycho education, delivery of coping skills we work towards reducing emotional distress and assisting with better symptoms management and improve overall level of functioning.
During our life, we may be exposed and/being a subject of traumatic experience which could lead to symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Symptoms as such, could be debilitating and negatively impacting relationships and level of functioning. Symptoms associated with intense fear, isolation, shame, guilt and fear of intimacy are not foreign to those who suffer from the disorder. Therefore, our practice trained to assist the individual in processing the traumatic narrative, identify cognitive distortions linked to the event/s, removing shame and/or self-blame and promote recovery and healing.
Counseling could be instrumental for couples and families that exhibit dysfunctional patterns. We focus on communication patterns, attachment styles, triggers, issues pertaining to intimacy and strengthening connection.
